As someone who has led many a trip and tried more than my fair share of “small chairs” (I’ve basically run a one-person chair testing lab in the wild), I can confidently say: most chairs are either light, comfy, or easy to set up. They rarely two of these, and almost never the magical trifecta.

Enter the Sitpack chair. While it’s not the featherweight champ, it’s pretty darn light and blissfully simple to use. No IKEA-style assembly trauma here. Just unfold, click the legs into place, and done. When it’s time to move on, the legs collapse neatly and fold in on themselves like some kind of satisfying origami. Bonus: the whole thing fits back into the carry bag without a wrestling match, and the bag even has a (detachable) strap so you can carry it to a game or picnic.

Materials are solid, stitching’s tidy, and the rubber feet help it stay put. Most importantly, it passed the “can I figure this out without the manual?” test. But if you’re the “follows directions” type, they even threw in illustrated instructions.

As for comfort? I expected to perch awkwardly, but this thing actually supported my 6’, 150 lb self without a complaint. I might not lounge in it all day, but it is great for what it is: compact, light-ish, and reliable.

Would recommend to fellow small-chair skeptics and anyone tired of hauling gear that feels like punishment.

The Sitpack 5S Quick Set-up Camping Chair has been a fantastic addition to my outdoor gear. It's impressively lightweight and portable, making it easy to carry along on hikes, beach days, or any outdoor adventure. The quick set-up feature is a game-changer, allowing me to get comfortable in no time.

Despite its compact size, this chair is incredibly sturdy, with a 265 lbs capacity thanks to its folding aluminum frame. Whether I'm lounging at the beach or taking a break during a hike, it's the perfect companion for a moment of rest.

Plus, it comes with a convenient carry bag, making it easy to pack and transport. It’s become my go-to for any outdoor excursion, providing comfort without the bulk.

This chair is quite surprisingly good. The size that it folds down to in its bag is remarkable, yet I (as a 5' 8" 150 lb adult) can sit very comfortably in it and it is nicely supportive and perfectly suitable for an extended sit. It is very stable with its four legs, someone asked me if it was tippy and it's really not, it doesn't hugely resist a slight forward tipping motion when getting out of it but that is almost a helpful feature. It has such direct, almost hammock-like bolstering such that I don't think you can really sit in any other seating positions besides the one natural one when you sit down, but that's fine with me. Packed size vs usability is unbeatable for this little guy, I think it pretty much justifies the price (and that's the real question, right?)

Well I can tell you this, I got the first one by the grace of the review program so I feel very lucky in that regard, but now that we have one it seems like it would make the most sense to have a "matched set" since my wife and I both like it and we both attend tailgating and bonfire events and such, so yes I think I will spend my real money on a second one if that helps anyone make their decision. If you get a good sale on it then definitely go for it!

The chair measures approximately 16" x 21" x 23" so it is wide enough and tall enough for me to sit comfortably in with ease. Since there are no arm rests, I get up just using my legs.
The legs have rubber feet on the bottom, and they feel sturdy.
The chair has a little weight to it, but it's not heavy at all, so carrying the chair around shouldn't be a problem.

While I was sitting in the chair, I kept my movements to a minimum since I was trying to get used to the chair and get a feel for it. The chair is nice and comfortable and the height is perfect for me and my knees. I was able to sit back comfortably as the backrest is high enough to eliminate any type of back pain. I prefer camping chairs with a backrest over the stool type of seats. When the chair is folded up, it has an attached velcro strap that keeps the chair folded. The velcro isn't very strong, but it does keep the chair folded.

The included storage carry bag is nice as it has a zipper to open and close the bag. I'm used to the drawstring bags, so this bag is a change for me. The zipper is smooth and hopefully will hold up to repeated use. Since the chair has a velcro strap to keep the chair folded the chair can be stored without the storage bag but if someone is using this chair while waiting in line at a store if they didn't bring the storage bag then they will need to hold the chair or tuck it under their arm after the chair is folded so it's best to bring the storage bag because it can be slung over a shoulder or worn crossbody since the strap is long and adjustable.

In conclusion, this is a very nice and sturdy folding chair. The design of it is very good, and it is easy to unfold and set up and just as easy to fold when not in use. The included storage carrying bag is nice, but the chair, when folded, can either fit inside a hiking backpack or straped to the side so the storage bag can be left at home if one desires. I like the storage bag as I can wear it a couple of different ways so I'll use it but if the zipper ever breaks then I will attach it to my pack or figure out another way to carry the chair.

This is the second generation of this Norwegian company’s design. I missed the first gen so can’t speak to what got improved, but I really like the result. I own a LOT of camping chairs. most of the small ones involve assembling a frame and then strivng with effort to stretch the fabric taut over it. This design is one piece - it simply unfolds like an umbrella, then you extend the 2 back and 2 seat supports until the. buttons click like a beach canopy’s, and you are done. I set it up from “in the bag” to “in the chair” in literally 20 seconds. Disassembly and storage are just as easy. You get the compactness without the hassle. It supports 265 pounds. Sitting in it is very comfortable. You are a bit to the ground but not as low as so other lightweight chairs. My behind is 12” above the ground and my knees are essentially level with my thighs, and ai am 6’ tall. . At 65. I can get up and out without a problem. Rip stop fabric is smooth and comfortable with lots of mesh areas for ventilation. Sewing is excellent, as is overall quality of construction. This product’s quality is a cut above the average. There is a mesh pocket on each side, and a S-carabiner in one lower corner. A wraparound strap to keep it all together is sewn in place. Weighs in at 56.1 oz, including a zippered closure storage bag with detachable carry strap . Note about the bag - it is big enough, but you need to put the slightly narrower end of the collapsed folded chair in first, and take the wider end out first to avoid any struggles. I vehicle camp, do not ultralight backpack, so for me this is several steps up from the old school soccer chairs as it is only 15” x 5“ and 3 pounds 8 oz. Not the very lightest but for me I don’t care. A high-back version would be even more appreciated, I hope that is in the works. Gong in my camping kit. Strongly recommend.

This folding camping chair is pretty amazing. I was honestly not expecting it to be so comfortable, especially when sitting at a 45 degree angle, but it was! It is extremely well built and very solid and durable.

It comes with instructions in the bag, although I was able to put it together without them. The fabric appears waterproof. The chair has two side pockets and a carabiner included for a loop on one of the chair sides. The bottoms of the feet have a nice rubber on them to avoid dents if using it on a nice floor and for grip. The metal supporting the chair is thick and strong, and the chair was very sturdy (I can easily believe it will support 265 pounds).

I can’t wait to take it camping! I think this will be my new favorite portable camping chair.

I’m not going to take a star away for confusing instructions but wow I was thoroughly confused when I first put this together.
After doing it a few times it was a no brainer but just know it’s not as bad as it seems initially.
The chair itself is a lot higher quality than other chairs made of straight plastic. This one actually has metal legs which is much needed since the plastic ones are definitely known to break on this style of chair. Sitting in it feels good and fairly basic, no real back support or head rest obviously but the real benefit is the carrying ability.
I love being able to easily throw this over my shoulder for a quick chair setup.

I love that it is so compact. It is easy to transport. I am 5’6 and weigh 185 and it fits me just fine but my husband is 6’2 and weighs 220 and it is not a good fit for him. It is well made and has little storage bags on both side to place items and a hook that can be used to hang a water bottle. I do wish the back was a little higher but overall a nice little seat that is much easier to transport than a typical folding chair and bag. The seller does let you know that the first couple of times it will be a little stiff trying to open and close it but after a few times it does glide more smoothly.

I am VERY impressed with this small camping chair! Why? Because of the high quality of the parts, ease of set up, light weight and great product for the price! My biggest caveat is the instructions, which ended up causing more confusion than proper set up. So my recommendation is to read the instructions through to get a feel of how it works, but follow your intuition and set this up with common sense. Trying to set it up by the instructions caused more aggravation.

The chair does set up in seconds and is extremely balanced! There are no loose parts, so you don’t have to worry about losing something during each set up. The materials are extremely high quality so you know this chair will last!! Overall I am in love with this chair! On a recent hike, it was so lightweight you forget you have it along! I love the crossbody case that comes with it! If you like to hike, camp, go to outdoor concerts, tailgating, etc. this is chair is a must have for sure!!

The chair sits a bit deeper and the back is more supported than another version of these ultralights, so win there. The seat itself is ok material but the legs are solid and my favorite part, without rocking and the rubber feet are thick and sturdy.

The price is a bit high because small quality issues are already present without me getting it outdoors yet. Two of the pins are not operating smoothly and require me to line the pin with the opening, and then I have to hit the legs for them to only partially pop and lock, as seen in the third picture compared to the full positive lock on the second picture. The fourth pic shows some random green tag that was not cleanly cut, and the last pic shows a nearly-stripped screw that's sharp to the touch. Small but disappointing details.

In the end, I do like the chair a lot and will use it until it gives out. Its small and portable with a great bag and excellent strap that adjusts with nice carabiners.

Wow, this is the lightest camping chair I have ever used. It takes up almost no space. I will recommend it to my friends.

Really met my needs for our camping and beach vacation. So light that I can throw into my day bag and quickly unfolds/folds. I’m keeping it in my car for quick park trips I don’t want to sit on the floor. I’m petite and I felt it was perfect but my husband who’s 5”7 prefers a regular size camp chair because he felt it was small. In a pinch it’s better than sitting on the floor. Deducted one star because I hate the bag. It’s hard to close the end with the legs and if they made it just a bit bigger it could fit without trying so hard

I like this chair due to its very compact size. We have other small portable collapsible chairs which have a higher back which we still use and enjoy. Those use tent-pole type supports with elastic cord between the sections, which can be finicky to setup and fit back into the carry case. This model unfolds more like an umbrella and collapses more easily into a smaller cylinder than the others, which I find more convenient when carrying it along on bicycle rides to the beach.

Super solid chair that really quick and easy to set up and take down.
