Takes a minute to set up, ok actually several of them, but it’s worth the hassle due to its free standing nature and room for boots under the awning. Good mosquito netting as well. This is primarily my motorcycle camping tent, it fits neatly in a saddle bag and weighs less than 5lbs.
Small on the inside, but roomy enough for 1 person and all the gear you haul on the bike. I waterproofed mine with aftermarket spray, makes it really dry. I love everything about it except putting it up and packing it up, but that’s any tent.
I was looking for a tent for camping so I ordered this one. The package includes a tent storage bag, inner and outer layer, and stakes with a storage bag. The tent storage bag has a buckle and a handle. It is a lightweight tent easy to carry along. The instructions are attached to a storage bag as well as QR Code for a link to video installation. The tent is easy to set up if you follow the instructions properly. You can set this tent in different modes. It is specious. It can accommodate 2 people. It also has additional space for belongings. It has netting for good air circulation and protection from mosquitoes. It has mesh storage and a light hook. It has two way zippers. You can go in and out easily. Overall this is a good quality tent for camping. I liked it and recommended it.
The makers of this 3-season tent made some good choices. There is one lightweight aluminum pole that is used for the tent and the fly. At just over 4 lbs, it is not an ultralight: if you want to shed that last pound, you’ll have to triple the price. However, I plan to use this for bikepacking, where you don’t have to be quite so intensely concerned about weight.
The seams come sealed, which is nice. It’s the middle of winter here, so I set it up in my living room, and it went up easily. There is a QR code in the tag of the carry bag that brings you to a YouTube video that shows you have to set it up. The only tricky part is setting up the floor pieces for the vestibule - I had to slow the video down to 0.25 speed and watch very closely to see how it was done. Of course, in my setup, I can’t use any pegs on my floor, so the tent appears a bit limp. You’ll have to excuse that.
Some small criticisms: 1) it is marketed as a 4-season tent, but it is really a 3-season tent. A 4-season tent would need to be much more robust than this one, in my opinion. 2) The large tag on the inside of the carry bag has some tiny pictures and even smaller text for instructions. I’d suggest you watch the YouTube video and practice setting it up in advance, so you don’t have to depend on the tiny pictures. 3) It is marketed as a 2-person tent, and you should know that the 2-person designation generally means it is suitable for one person. If you put 2 people in here, they would need to be smaller people, and very friendly with each other. As my son (an avid outdoorsman) says: a 3-person tent is for 2 people, a 2-person tent is for one person, and a 1-person tent is like a coffin.
Still, despite my mild criticisms, this is a decent tent for the money, with features that keep the weight down without compromising on quality.
ATEPA Ultralight 2 Person Camping Tent:
I did not set the tent up in the sun on a hot day, in the wind or while besieged by biting insects.
The first setup is the most complicated. Two pages of pictures with text are sewn into the stuff sack. The text is small and the pictures are as well. Line drawings might be easier to decipher. A QR code links to a setup video which goes much faster than reading the text and viewing the pictures.
The fabric is either Ripstop Nylon or Fine Mesh Screen. There are 12 aluminum 3-corner stakes...red for visibility. Tie-down ropes are braided and about 2mm diameter.
Assembling the rods is like taking a spider web apart, but there is a satisfying click when the rods link together on their own.
The rain fly goes nearly to the ground and overlaps the bathtub floor.
Seams are double-stitched AND taped.
There are vents on each end with a prop to hold the vent open. Mmmm...ventilation.
This is light weight for a 2 person tent and it boasts almost 30 square feet of sleeping space and additional space for gear and shoes in the vestibules.
I did not assemble the vestibule floor or insert all the stakes.
*I like the green color of the rain fly and the dark color of the inner tent which helps to blend in with the surroundings instead of giving the poison frog aura. The black inner tent will aid in seeing the night sky if used without rain fly.*
I'm leery of the cross piece in the center of the aluminum poles.
In strong wind, experience says that the tent will roll like a tumbleweed if not staked down and tied out which could, and probably will, cause irreparable damage.
Many lesser tents will only last a summer or two if setup where UV light degrades the fabric for weeks at a time. Archaeologist field crews bear that observation out.
This Tent is very easy to set up, and can be moved after setup. It is good for a wide range of temperatures and very lightweight. The space inside is very compact but doable for two people and generous for one person. I set it up on a calm day and did not stake it out so the fly was not tensioned fully on the photos. I would suggest some sort of ground tarp/cloth as a possible add on to this setup.
This tent is incredibly lightweight and packs down to a small form that is easily transported. I am not a regular camper and I did have to look at the YouTube video. Once I reviewed how the clips attach to the frame I was good to go. I set it up inside to see how difficult it would be and I can now set it up with no problems.
I will mostly use this tent at the beach as a 'base of operation' to keep stuff corralled or allow the kids to nap or change and for some of the summer music festivals that come through town.
Haven't used it yet. Seems ok.

I recently picked up for a weekend trip, and it is a fantastic, roomy option. The single-pole aluminum frame is strong and resilient and easy to set up. Waterproofing is a nice feature, in the morning there was a done of mist and dew, but the tent was totally dry inside. Plenty of mesh pockets and loops inside for storage.
I purchased this tent to try out a budget friendly, lighter weight option. So far I've slept in this 2 consecutive nights. Both nights it was freezing temps and frost on the outside and condensation on the inside. Condensation was much more noticeable after the second night. It was pretty easy to shake off the moisture before packing away. I would recommend taking the tent back out when you get home and make sure everything dried out completely. Set-up was pretty straight forward.
Arrived promptly. Small hiking tent as described. It’s a 4lb tent so not really ultralight but should be fine for short hikes and camping.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful review of the ATEPA Ultralight 2-Person Backpacking Tent. We truly appreciate your honest and balanced feedback.
We’re glad to hear that the tent arrived promptly and matches the description. Your note about the weight is well taken — while we design this model to strike a balance between durability, space, and weight for most backpackers, we understand that “ultralight” can mean different things to different adventurers. It’s great to know you feel it’ll work well for short hikes and camping trips, and we hope it brings you many comfortable nights outdoors.
If you ever have questions about maximizing its performance or packing it down, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help you get the most out of your gear.
Thanks again for choosing Broadout. Wishing you many great adventures ahead — whether they're short trips or longer trails!

Compared this tent to some of my much higher end tents of the same size and this tent looks, feels, and weighs the same. My other similar tents were worn out, so I wanted to give this one a try. I added some additional guy lines at the four corners in case I have to use rocks instead of stakes. Testing this tent mountain hunting for Dall Sheep in Alaska in 2026. I think it’ll pass the test.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your ATEPA Ultralight 2-Person Backpacking Tent. We truly appreciate it!
It’s fantastic to hear that the tent compares favorably in look, feel, and weight to much higher-end models you’ve used in the past—that’s exactly the kind of performance and value we strive to deliver. We’re also impressed by your proactive approach in adding extra guy lines for adaptability in rocky terrain; that’s the kind of smart, practical preparation that defines a true outdoorsperson.
Most of all, we’re honored that you’ve chosen this tent for such an epic adventure: a Dall sheep hunt in Alaska in 2026. That is genuinely next-level testing, and we’re thrilled you have confidence in our gear for such a demanding expedition.
We’ll be cheering you on from here and would love to hear how it performs once you’re out in those breathtaking Alaskan mountains. If you ever have any questions about setup, care, or weather prep as your trip approaches, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you safe travels, incredible sights, and the very best of luck on your hunt.
Respectfully,

This is a really nice white tent and was very easy for us to put together. It held up great in the rain and kept everything inside completely dry, and it also stood strong against the wind. I’m really impressed with how sturdy and reliable it is—definitely a solid choice for outdoor use.
Perfect. Light weight. Nice design. Easy set up.

This backpacking tent is lightweight, and is comfortably sized for one person. It is well made – quality construction and components throughout. It has good seams and is waterproof. It is easy to assemble and disassemble, but the storage bag could be bigger. All in all, it’s a very good basic tent.
Amazing tent, well made, easy to tear down. I wish it could be compacted a bit smaller, but for what you get I think the size is perfectly acceptable!
After months of anticipation due to weather delays, I finally had the chance to take this tent into the field, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The build quality is exceptional for the price point. It's clear that thoughtful design went into everything, from the durable, smooth zippers to the sturdy aluminum poles and reinforced seams. Setup is quick and intuitive—just what you want when arriving at camp late or in less-than-ideal conditions.
Despite being lightweight, the tent feels solid in wind and held up beautifully in somewhat wet conditions. There's plenty ample space for one person with gear, and it even works for two, though it’s cozier. Ventilation and mesh coverage are great, and I especially appreciate the included guy lines and stakes—no need to make extra purchases. For backpackers, motorcyclists, or anyone needing a compact but capable 3- to 4-season tent, this is a phenomenal choice that punches far above its weight. Just an incredible product all around.
Decent 3 season tent...a little lightweight to be a 4 season tent...but nice.
Not too hard to put up after a short learning curve...and seems to be well made.
I was pleased with the weight of the tent...it really is a lightweight tent...and should work fine for backpacking.
QR code takes you to a YouTube video that shows how to put it up.
I thought that this was a nice feature.
We've come a long way as far as info about a product goes.
This is a good tent...and will be good to have for backpacking this Spring.
I gave it 4 stars only because I questioned whether it would be good for 4 season camping.
I guess that only matters depending on the region you use it in.
Good tent...light and a nice design.
Perfect for camping and backpacking with my dog. Tend is simple to put together and light enough to carry easily in my pack
