Takes a minute to set up, ok actually several of them, but it’s worth the hassle due to its free standing nature and room for boots under the awning. Good mosquito netting as well. This is primarily my motorcycle camping tent, it fits neatly in a saddle bag and weighs less than 5lbs.
Small on the inside, but roomy enough for 1 person and all the gear you haul on the bike. I waterproofed mine with aftermarket spray, makes it really dry. I love everything about it except putting it up and packing it up, but that’s any tent.
This ATEPA Camping Tent has met my expectations. With good weather, it's nice to have simply a screen to sleep in; if rain comes, you have the option to add the outer layer and have a more weather proofed experience. There is enough room for a couple, or two very close friends, to share the space easily. Set-up was pretty close to a typical tent and was very intuitive; it included instructions but we didn't need to reference them. The tent is lightweight but seems to be of good quality and durability. My dog was able to enter and exit the tent, and his claws didn't go through the bottom.
There are some features of set up that were different than others we've had but they were easy to figure out. For example, it doesn't have the posts going through a sewn-in channel. Each end has a small loop it would feed through before putting the peg in the hole and clips to hold the tent to the centers of the pole. Another slight difference is that the posts are all connected rather than having separate posts that cross each other.
This tent is lightweight and will work for our son who is going to be attending youth camps this summer. As usual with any tent, take the number of people it's recommended to house and subtract one for a more comfortable stay. being a 2 man tent, this really means 1, 2 if it's an emergency. It holds our larger camping pad easily and will fit a regular sized sleeping bag or two skinny mummy bags. Assembly was pretty strait forward and easy to set up. We liked that there were doors on both sides of the tent so that in the event there were two occupants, you wouldn't need to crawl over the person by the door to get out. There were two shoe/gear trays that attach to the flap on the outside of the door to keep your things off the ground if they aren't staying in the tent. As far as the quality goes, this is a pretty thin tent. Think hammock thickness. I understand it's for backpacking and weight plays a role in that, so keeping it light is key. I would imagine that condensation may be an issue from the ground since the base is the same thin material as the rain fly and not lined, but we haven't tested that out yet. There are two vents on this tent, one on each end. They stay open with a support to keep them from closing which was a cool feature. The top of the tent has a hook to hang a light from. Taking the tent down was easier than putting it up and rolling it up, we were able to get it back in the bag easily. Not all bags are made for easy storage after it's been unfolded from the perfect factory form. This one is.
This is a fantastic tent and has been prefect for backpacking so far. The tent is easily assembled and and really only takes 5 minutes to get up, maybe another 5 to get your stuff inside so 10 minutes total to start sleeping. The interior is big and spacious too, me and my wife easily fit inside with our packs in the vestibule area and had room to toss and turn. The material feels very durable too and hasn't taken on any holes or punctures yet. The zippers work good too and none have snagged out broke yet. The ventilation is fine for us but on hotter nights we'll leave the fly open and it breathes great. Overall this a great 2 person backpacking tent that covers at the basics while still being lightweight enough to pack. Highly recommend.
The "ATEPA Ultralight Spacious Interior 2 Person Camping Tent, 4000MM+ Waterproof Backpacking Double Layer Backpacking Hiking & Camping Tent" is a great small tent.
First, this tent is super lightweight for it's size. It is made of nylon so am a little bit concerned about the longevity, but I think it will last okay if taken care of.
It has nice poles and pegs and is easy to assemble. It fits two people, but is a little tight, but not too bad for what it is, it is after all designed to be a backpacking tent.
It says that it is a 4 season tent. I'm not so sure about that, I personally consider it more of a 3 season tent. I don't think I would want to camp in the snow with it.
Overall, it is a very nice little tent, lightweight and convenient.
