ATEPA Merino Wool Neck Gaiter

This neck gaiter was surprisingly soft. All my snowboarding stuff always ends up stinking so I was stoked to get a wool one so it wouldn't stink. But it's surprisingly soft! It looks good!

I measured mine at 38.7cm x 26.75cm. It's super soft and warm. My only complaints are that there were a few threads hanging from the end of stitch when I got it and that the advertisement mentions 100% polyester as well as merino wool. Just confusing. It's definitely 100% polyester, not merino wool.

Sizing appropriate to “Buff” brand cotton alternative (see side-by-side pic for comparison). Warm and reasonably soft. Machine-washes well. Lightweight as I expected, but impressive the added warmth from the thin the wool layer.

These balaclavas are good for protecting your face/head on those cold windy days. They are on the thinner side but that makes it easier to breath through. They are soft on the inside and more of a silky type of material on the outside. The 2 pack we received I thought would be good for myself and one for my husband but it’s a little tight on him and he’s not sure how long he’ll be able to wear it bc he likes balaclavas looser on him and he likes more of a fleece material. But I like them so now I have 2! I can leave one in my car in case of emergencies. Good product, fits a women’s head perfectly and would probably be good for teens too.

I own several neck gaiters, the kind that are made from polyester, that you see several fishermen wear. That's what I'm used to. I usually use them for sun protection when I play pick ups or tournaments in the sun. They're also good for when the weather gets slightly cooler. However, once the temp gets low enough, those gaiters don't help anymore.This is where this gaiter comes in. I got it specifically to wear to play ultimate frisbee on cold days or during cold evenings/nights. It actually adds warmth without carrying sweat and/or extra moisture from the body or the air which is great. It doesn't weigh my neck down or get clumpy. I appreciate that a lot.It looks ordinary but I personally think it looks better on. The color is bluish grey to me but, sure, we'll call it grey. It is easy to wear/match with whatever outfit and it probably even compliments the outfit, too.It is very stretchy and it retains shape. I pull it over my nose several times through out 3-4 hours of running around and the elasticity did not compromise. The biggest surprise I have experienced - and it is a pleasant one- is that I can breathe through this gaiter. I can't breathe through my other polyester ones while running or while trying to catch a breath. But with this one I can. For a little while. I'm quite happy about this.One thing I have to get used to and I'm still getting used to it's the fact that it's snug around my neck. It doesn't squeeze nor is it uncomfortable. However, I'm not used to having anything around my neck or a snug gaiter in this case. So several times through out the whole wearing time, I would gently tank it away from my neck as if it was riding up or getting tighter even though it was not.Another thing is I feel like the gaiter is slightly shorter than I expected or I thought it was supposed to be. The whole time wearing it, I felt like there was a bit missing in terms of length. Like, where's that half inch that I don't feel. Maybe that's just me.I still like this product, though. I'm glad I got it.

I got this for my husband for when he’s shoveling snow. It’s very soft and comfortable on. The color is like the picture and he has no complaints about it.

I love the quality of this gator, fine and smoot like cotton but warm like wool. Recommend.

I got this gaiter to wear in Alaska this winter. Although it appears to be well-made and very warm, it was too tight for me. I’m 6’0 and 210 and once I went through extensive calisthenics to get it on, my face and neck felt like they were encased in sausage casings. Not comfortable at all. This item would probably fit a woman or child well but not a full-size man.

It super soft and warm. Very comfortable and it not itchy. I like the material

This gaiter is nice for mild weather. It wouldn't be my first choice for very cold conditions, but for chilly weather it's very nice, and even when it's not that cold, it is still comfortable. The wool is very soft even against my face.

This is a great little piece of material and so far has tied for first place as one of my most used pieces of motorcycle gear. I can comfortably ride at any speed (up to about 90 mph) in 40 degree weather, and even if it's not totally covering my entire neck, it still provides sufficient warmth to not have to pull over and adjust. It's just the right amount of stretchiness, softness, and size for my neck - I'm as average a build as it gets. You may find a cheaper option out there and wouldn't be faulted for doing so, but this is still very reasonably priced for the comfort it provides - five resounding stars!

Good for windy Walks or for hiking.I love the Fall and Winter and spend as much time outdoors as possible. There are however days when the wind is high, it needs a little more protection from the elements on my face.This gator is great for that. Light but plenty warm. I can still breath through quite easily as well.It rolls up so compactly, I keep the Gator in my coat pocket all the time, so I am ready for any weather.I tried it for bike riding as well, and it does a good job, unless there are lots of bounces, as it has a tendency to drop down a bit.The price makes it a great buy.

When buying clothes (but most items) online, you are never sure if there is going to be a manufacturer odor associated with the product. In the past, I have had to air out dresses, sweatshirts, shirts and pants. So the concern is REAL.While I have not had my wife evaluate the odor, I do not detect an objectionable smell from this gaiter.The wool is smooth and non-scratchy (thank you merino wool).The color is a soft grey which should allow it to be worn with a wide range of coats/sweatshirts.It is designed to gather loosely so it should 'stretch' up the face or it can be worn simply around the neck.My wife is looking forward to including this with other winter attire for the months ahead.5 stars.

This is the softest neck scarf...OMG, it is like butter. The grey is more of a lighter grey, like elephant grey. Very comfortable, not itchy and not overly hot. Some neck scarfs feel confining and sweaty. This one is really soft against the skin.

Got this after owning a stretchable poly neck gaiter for a while - this is a little tighter around the face, but much looser through the neck. Like this much better; this stays on the bridge of your nose much better without drooping and doesn't feel like it's trying to strangle you, which is better than my synthetic gaiter was. Keeps you warm and the wind from biting at your neck during fast rides. Requires a bit more care to wash than a poly garment - directions say gentle wash only/hand wash preferred, no dryer, iron to maintain shape. That's about the only complaint I have, it's very comfortable.

Merino wool is so soft and this doesn't disappoint. When skiing a gaitor is so important and having a soft, warm one makes a huge difference. Usually when I think of wool I think "itchy", this is NOT. I just want to cuddle into it, there is no itch, only soft comfort and still getting the warmth and water-wicking of wool. If you are out in the cold, you need this.

All my life I have been a winter enthusiast (snow skiing, snowmobiles, etc) and believe it or not, I have never had one of these, just scarfs. This is the most amazing and warm neck gaiter that I have ever seen. I will be getting many more of these for the Northeastern Winters. The fleece is so soft and warm that I don't believe I will ever get a chill from the cold winters we get here.

The gator is a super invention. Gators keep me warm. They don’t get in the way (no flapping scarf ends!). They are not bulky. I have some super-thin ones, and I have a fancy fleece one that even has a draw-string. This one (I got beige) is a simple tube made of luxurious fleece. It is not fancy, but it is wonderfully warm and soft and comfortable! It is the one I will reach for first.

I wanted it to wear around my neck during the cold winter months. The warmer is perfect for that. The material is thin even though it is wool however, there is more than enough to cover your neck.

Who needs a neck gaiter? People jogging in the winter in Ohio, that's who. This is a nice light weight fleece gaiter. The color was off from what was pictured. I expected it to match a hat that I had, but this is very pink-ish. Not too thick, not to thin, just right.

It is warm but its very short. I wanted it to hold my beard down and neck warm while I am motorcycling this winter but it isn't going to work for that.

I used this gaiter of a cold winter night on a boat on Iceland. It made a whole lot of difference in keeping me warm! It kept my face worm in wind and rain. Very small and easy to pack for a long travel. Wahsed on delicate cycle and air dried for protect the wool, worked well.

This is a nice merino wool gaiter. I originally ordered it in green and ended up returning for the blue color because it goes better with my winter coats. Somehow my blue gaiter was a smidge longer than the green one...? I had also ordered another brand for comparison and realized how important it is to look at the measurements in the photos. The other brand was really tight around my face and neck while these ATEPA gaiters gave you some wiggle room to be able to wear this gaiter in all of the ways advertised. This gaiter kept me warm without overheating. They didn't even get my glasses foggy when I used this as a mask.

Excellent very soft warm enough even it’s so thin, except too large for me (or my head too small) because it keeps falling off my face if I wear it below my ears… that’s why I took off one star… if I wear it above my ears no problem.

For the winter.

Because I ride a motorcycle all year as my daily ride, I have had to learn to dress appropriately for all sorts of weather. During cold and wet weather, no matter how well one dresses, and no matter how high the quality and fit of such garments the fact that ones neck and head are normally above the front windshield, it is hard to avoid getting a cold draft down the neck when turning or leaning ones neck from side to side or up and down. this sort of neck gaiter has become a regular and needed item in any serious motorcyclists on road wardrobe.and I have several of them. But, most of them are made of stretchy synthetic material. While that is satisfactory, they simply do not compare with this one which is made of 100% Marino wool. It is certainly as stretchy as the synthetic ones, but many times more cosy, warm, and comfortable. It easily stretched up to become a face mask in really cold weather, and is dramatically easier to breath through as the synthetic ones I was used to wearing. I assume this would be true for a skier to use, or indeed anyone that needs such a garment. I am amazes that though it is wool it is not scratchy or itchy and is a smooth as any of my synthetic units. I use this one daily and will acquire another one just because I like it so much. I suggest it would be a wonderful gift as well.

I love wool items, and any time I can replace a piece of technical gear with wool, I try to. This is a great example of an easy piece of kit to replace for a great comfort upgrade. Made of the softer Merino wool and not that plain old itchy stuff, this gaiter is velvety soft. It has a great amount of stretch, easily fitting over my large man head. But not so tight it felt constrictive around my neck. I plan to use this for motorcycle riding, hiking/camping and all that fun stuff. It's well made, not thick but not paper thin either, it's a good gaiter thickness, for whatever that's worth. It should hold up just fine for your adventures, I'm confident it will for mine.
