KingCamp TURINO Canvas Teepee Hot Tent with Stove Jack

Look, it’s not a tent you’ll be taking with you on the AT, but for everything else, you can’t do better for the price.

I’m addicted to seeing how long I can keep a thing, for that reason I love durable products. This thing might be a couple pounds dry and take an additional 5-10 minutes to pack up, but boy is it worth it if you’re camping with a car nearby or don’t have far to hike.

Could you use it on a through hike? Yes, are their better lightweight options, yes.

What I like:

Material
The thick 210g durable cotton weave gives a solid canvas feel while not being absurdly thick. I have a feeling the water proofing may fade in a year or so but that can be reapplied, or possibly even waxed.

Water proof
After 9 days in fog and some heavy rain, the top has been very water proof, and the floor mat also fits perfectly under the topper and keeps you dry.

Ease of setup
While the initial setup takes some time and I would like it if they gave more instructions to the location and use of the stakes and para-cord usage I figured it out and it’s so simple and hard to mess up, it’s literally two pieces and one pole.

Very spacious
I would fit three/four friends in this tent or a couple. What I like about the space is that you can fit your bedding on one side and your stuff on the other as to keep your packs and boots dry over night. Nothings worse than waking up to find out your gears gotten wet or books soaked from splash or losing sleep in rain just to check your gears still dry over night.

The shape
The bowl or bottom once down creates a lip that keeps water or rain out and once the top is se, nothing can get in, even more, once the skirt edges are fitted down not even splash or bugs can find their way in! No bug net needed, such a great design.

What I would like to change
Better instructions as mentioned and
while this may be my error for not tightening the floor pan, I think the length or ridge that runs the distance from the tent bowl corner to corner should be shorter as some of the edges fell flat instead of siting upright, while I know that light flooding wouldn’t even sloop over the ridge, It still bothers me.

Awesome tent, spent 5 months in northern Michigan hunting and camping in this tent, one continuous trip from late September to February of 2025. I can’t complain it was a great experience with no issues. Seams are well sewn, no water leaks. The zipper works wonderful and having a floor was great. A little bit heavy but the space and comfort were well worth it. Held up to the snow, rain and wind without a hiccup. A little hard to set up the first time but once you’ve set it up the next time was easy. Snow skirts work great! Kept the wind and snow out. As you can see from the photos I have posted there’s plenty of room for all your gear. Could be used as a two person tent without the stove or less gear. Love this hot tent and have another trip in the planning for this fall.

Spent the night in freezing temps in this tent with a little stove and it was so toasty durable and just enough room for me all my stuff and wood for the night .

I've never used a Pyramid nor Tipi tent so thought I'd give this a try. I only have experience with dome style tents, lots of them. So my review here is based on a comparison to a dome tent.

Firstly, the materials and components all seem like high quality. I didn't get to test this in rain or wind so I can only make some assumptions.

First thing to note this is not free-standing, it is required to be staked out. I don't like that because it's not uncommon to be in a place where it can be difficult if not impossible to stake. I set this up in my yard and I had a hard time getting it staked.

It's not difficult to setup: Stake out the top FIRST, then put in the one center pole, then attach the floor. This order of operations is kind of nice in windy conditions, especially if it's rainy or snowy.

There are no windows, just a very large door. The door has no screen. But, this type of tent is not bug proof because there is a gap between the floor and top where insects can and will easily make their way in. So a screened door isn't practical anyway. A window would be nice though.

All that said, this is primarily a winter camping tent, so the bug issue isn't really an issue and the setup is inducive to setting up in winter conditions. Except for the fact that the ground will likely be frozen so getting stakes in will not be an option. There are other options for staking out a tent in snow, but this does not come with those style of anchors. What else makes this a winter camping tent is the option for wood burning stove, how nice would that be in winter!

I docked a star really because the listing states this is a year-round tent. I disagree with that, I think it's only a winter or cold weather tent. It has a very large footprint for a two person tent, although it is extremely roomy inside which is great for staging gear and stuff. This, for example, would make a great base-camp tent for ice climbing!

Overall I prefer the ease of setup, smaller footprint and freestanding nature of most dome tents. But I'll hold onto this for my winter adventures.

It’s an attractive tent. Very nice canvas polyester material and easy setup.

FIRST IMPRESSION 11/26/23 Look folks, I haven’t even set this thing up yet. It’s a rainy & cold November Sunday. I won’t be able to set it up right now… however. I do re-enacting , living history, and plenty of other real world things where I really do use a lot of high quality canvas.. and frankly this is great for the money! I will set it up, inspect it, and return to my review at a later date. But first impression are: This is gonna be good.

Bought for my husband for hunting. Little stove fits perfect, easy to set up. A little harder to put back in the bag. Very sturdy quality, light weight to pack in a couple miles.

Absolutely love this tent, I have used it from -30 deg to 100 deg, in wind and rain it does everything I need. The weight is very light for a canvas. Highly recommend! Only improvement is the stitching on the stake loops.

Keeps you very cozy

This tent has really impressed me! It’s made of a super thick and durable material and it does a fantastic job at keeping the inside warm. It’s super easy to set up and I can’t wait to use it again.

This is a very thick tent. Looks like it will do well in cold weather. Haven’t tried to use an indoor chimney yet but looks like it will do the job

Took this to Zion for a couple nights over the weekend to see how it would hold up.1. It was compact to travel with - would not work for backpacking because it's a little too heavy, but it was easy to travel with in the car.2. Set up took a little while the first time. Some hints - Stake the footprint/floor first - Use one of the aluminum stakes as a guide - past the floor stake, directly out, will be where the tent stakes down. - Staking out the snow/sod flaps can go where ever they land, but some tension should help them stay down if there is no snow/sod to keep the edges down. - Make sure to fold out the peak vents BEFORE you put the tent pole in! The vent on the back side will be impossible to reach once you've got the pole in.3. I used a cot, and one of the legs wore a small hole in the floor after just two nights! If you are using anything with sharp legs, you need to put something under those legs - the floor is not tough enough to stand up to sharp stove legs or cot legs.4. With a cot in the tent, my head and feet were very close to the tent walls - wind gusts caused the tent to flap a little bit and hit me in the head or feet, waking me up the first couple of times. An air mattress on the ground would not have this issue since lower down, the walls are farther apart.5. Zipping the door shut is interesting because you have to zip it all the way to the ground to get it shut correctly, and the pitch of the roof makes it hard to get it all the way down there, and at night, it's a little hard to find without a light.6. Warmth was great! And even though I didn't like the edges of the tent flapping up a little bit in the wind, I did like the fresh air it brought inside.All in all, I think the floor needs some reinforcement, and the setup and use scenarios need some fine tuning, but otherwise, it's a great tent for the money, and it has the capability to keep you comfortable all four seasons.

6" of snow and 15 degrees outside and yes, its a hot tent. Small stove inside and works like a champ. Easy to setup and tear down. Plenty of room for two or one with a stove. Cotton/poly material, seems all the tents are going to this material. Superior to nylon ones. For a hot tent this is the bomb! Great value for your money.

I've never owned a hot tent before and regret it this tent is awesome for cold weather camping or just hanging out in the backyard in the snow.Very easy to set up in 5 minutes, made with high quality materials, inner sleeping closed in net is nice, rolls up surprisingly small, have not had any issues with my wood burning stove.Absolutely Recommended!What I can tell you about KingCamp is that both of their tents I have are absolute quality and very well made.

First off this tent arrived quickly and in minimal packaging. This tent is absolutely light weight,I want to say it weights about 10 to 12 lbs and it is easily rolled up for storage. The tent itself is well made and can easily tear resistant. I love the little carrying case which makes it easy to lug around. I love the inner tent as it will keep the creepy crawlies out but still allow for the wind to pass through the tent. You will definitely want to i invest in a tent mat as this doesn't come with one. The video shows two people putting the tent up but i was able to do it by myself. Although the ends of the tent can fold up and you can stake t the sides into the ground it does have large gaps open which let the cold in and is not very sturdy in high wind. the openings at the bottom can let in critters also so be aware of that when setting the tent up.

Very light weight, I would be worried about burning it down if I put a stove in it.

This tent is made very well and will last forever if taken care of! Comes with everything needed INCLUDING a mesh inner so it can be used year round. The T/C fabric is heavier but has properties that make it worth having. Overall, this is a grew tent and absolutely worth the price if you like hot tenting.
