Generous Size, Light Weight, With Good Insulation

A lot to like about the ATEPA Insulated Sleeping Pad.
For backpacking the size and weight are reasonable.
Packed down to 9" X 4" diameter, weighed in at about 1 lb. 11 ounces. I pictured it next to a one quart bottle.
Inflated, it measured about 76" Long X 25.5" wide and just over 3" thick.
Not as noisy as some lightweight pads that have the annoying crinkly sound every time you move. This pad does make some noise on its surface, and may be a bit slippery with a synthetic shell sleeping bag on top.
I tried it inside my Sleep Sack which features a cotton fitted sheet on the bottom and a down quilted top.
It reduced the noise, and warmed quickly, you can really feel the pad reflecting heat back to you, very cozy.
Comfort is great, I'm 5' 10" 165 lbs., I only touched ground when sitting upright.
It's advertised to be easily inflated, which it is. Using the included compression inflation/stuff sack, it took about 12 bagfuls of air to firmly inflate. Be careful to securely close the inflation valve upon inflation. I have woken to flat mattresses a few times due to my own negligence, not a leaky sleep pad.
The included repair kit consists of two 2" square cloth patches, no adhesive provided.
A nice combination of reasonable pack size, light weight, easy inflation, and low noise, with very good insulating warmth.

Great pad for the cold!

Impressed. I took this out on a two night trip hiking around Ausangate in Cusco and was very pleased with the size, comfort and most importantly, the warmth provided! This is not a small, ultralight pad. However, the weight is very good for the return and benefits provided. The carry bag works well for inflating and stays connected! but it is a bit of a workout and time consuming, especially when it's raining sideways and you want to get setup. I decided to purchase a small, rechargeable inflator and see how that works for the next adventure. Overall, I think this bag is an incredible value for anyone camping / hiking in cold weather and want to stay warm at night rather than brag about how light their pack is... ;-)

Super comfy air mattress!

I used it for a camping trip, and it held up really well inside the tent. It was extremely comfortable and didn't slide at all throughout the night. The entire package is extremely small and light when folded up. For the price, it's really the best option.

Comfortable, Quiet, and Worth It for Side Sleepers

I was searching for a comfortable yet affordable air mattress for side sleeping, and this one exceeded my expectations. It cost a bit more than I planned, but it’s definitely worth it. Unlike my Nemo Tensor, I don’t sink to the ground when lying on my side. It feels similar to the Big Agnes but at a more budget-friendly price. The material is quieter than the Tensor, though I’m not sure how it compares to the Big Agnes in that regard. It’s a little heavier and bulkier than the Transot, but the comfort makes up for it. After four nights of use, it hasn’t deflated once and is easy to inflate. Overall, a solid choice for side sleepers looking for better rest without breaking the bank.

So far so good comfortable ez to inflate and

So far so good comfortable ez to inflate and store.slept at about 45 degrees f and was plenty warm. I will camp in colder weather and test the r value . If the r value is near true it gets a 5 out of 5.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with the ATEPA All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pad! We're thrilled to hear that you found it comfortable to inflate and store, and that it kept you warm at 45°F.

It's great to know you're planning to test it in colder conditions—we're confident it will perform well! The pad is rated for temperatures significantly lower than 45°F, so we’re excited for you to put that R-value to the test.

We truly appreciate your thoughtful feedback and can’t wait to hear how it holds up on your next chilly adventure. If you have any questions or need tips as you test it further, feel free to reach out anytime.

Happy camping,
The BRoadout Team

The self inflating bag is great

I have been using a mat that has an inflation mechanism that you operate with a foot and it is a real pain. I have seen a few fellow backpackers who have ones that inflate using a bag, and that was one of the main selling points. I am not sure about the 6.6r rating (and I have no way to test it) but it will definitely work for the shoulder seasons. It takes up about as much space as a single shoe and feels like it is made of tough material, and it comes with some patches. It took about 9 bag fulls of air to inflate and held air all night.

Happy Out of Control Consumer
Keeps you warm and toasty on your winter trips.

The ATEPA Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pad is a rugged, insulated sleeping pad that balances warmth, comfort, and portability. Whether you're camping in shoulder seasons or braving alpine nights, it’s a reliable companion that keeps the cold out and sleep in.

So thick!

This has a great R-value and thickness for a comfortable sleep outdoors. For only being over a pound and a half, this is a fantastic weight to R-value, especially for the price. If you are getting older like I am, you value your comfort over being ultralight. And getting a good night's sleep starts with a good sleeping pad. Inflated lickety-split with my little flextail. Deflated easily and packed up compact. The material feels substantial and not like it's going to pop a hole the first time you use it.

Pretty Good Pad

I purchased this pad because I like to review camping/backpacking gear on Youtube and I am always looking for good gear at reasonable prices. So, when I saw this pad with its claimed R value, it size, weight and materials I decided to give it a try. I found the specs to be pretty close to waht is advertized. The pad weighs 25 oz by itself and 27 with the inflation bag. The size comes up a little short if you measure by the seams, however if you place a piece of cardboard on the top of the pad it is 4" inches on the eadge, the width is 26 inches at the top and bottom of the pad and the length is 77 inches. I tested the warm by using two Big Agnes Anvil Horn 15 degree bags. I first slept of the Atepa pad for about two hours then I switched over to the antoher which was on a Big Agnes Rapide SL which has a 4.8 R valve. That night it got down to 18 degees F for about 5 hours. The tent temp got down to 25 degrees F. The Atepa pad was fine until it got below 30 degrees and then it started feeling a little cool . I did not get cold because the bag was doing its job. Incidently the Anvil Horn has a pad sleeve and there is not insulation between the sleev and the bag. When I switched over to the Rapide I could definently tell a difference as I the pad felt warm. I switched back over to the Atepa pad when it was still 18 outside and opend the tent door. I still stayed warm but the pad still felt a little cool not to the touch but on your pressure points. I would give it an R value or 3 to 3.5. It sleeps very similar to my Big Agnes AXL sleeping pad which has an R value of 3. I was able to infalt it with 8 bags of air with the inflation sack. Over all I think that this is a great value for about 79 dollars US. I do not know about it longevity, but I will find out. I woudl give it more than 3 stars but I just dont know about its durablity. It was very comfortable also and the material seemed to be pretty good.

Thank you for sharing your detailed review of the ATEPA All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pad. We’re thrilled to hear your thoughts on its performance and appreciate the time you’ve taken to test it in such thorough conditions.

It's great to know that the pad lived up to your expectations in terms of warmth, comfort, and ease of inflation. Your comparison with other pads and the insights you’ve provided regarding its R-value are extremely valuable to other potential customers.

We also understand your concerns about durability, and we’ll be sure to keep that in mind as we continue to improve our products. We truly hope it proves to be a reliable addition to your gear collection. If you ever need any assistance or have further questions, feel free to reach out to us!

Decent pad and light enough for wilderness backpacking

The sleeping pad is a decent choice for camping and backpacking for two reasons: light weight and good insulation.

With a 6.6 R-value, this pad is designed to keep you warm in all seasons, thanks to its 7-layer construction and aluminum film that helps minimize heat loss. The insulation is good, and I found it to be plenty warm on cooler nights.

At just 1.65 lbs, the pad is VERY lightweight and compact (and cheaper, compared to my favorite, the Thermo-A-Rest), allowing it to pack down to the size of a water bottle. Once inflated, it provides a comfortable 4" of thickness.

Overall, this sleeping pad strikes a good balance between comfort, warmth, and portability -- for a relatively low price compared to Therm-A-Rest.

Nice sleeping pad

Be aware that this is an ultralight sleeping pad. It is not thick and soft and padded. It is thin and very light but contains enough air to keep you insulated and off the ground. I haven’t tested it in very cold conditions but I believe with a proper bag it will do fine. This is not the lightest sleeping pad in the world but it is totally serviceable for your average light backpacking and camping. Lighter pads cost much, much more so this one is a great value. I haven’t slept on it enough to speak of its durability but I believe it will hold up. Will update this review in the future if not.

Great idea

This camping mattress is definitely lightweight. I have tried self inflating ones as well as some with an internal pump that is used with your foot. The folded size of this is the smallest. The bag it comes in is also used to fill the mattress with air. The end of the bag with the valve is kept attached with Velcro.

I inflated the mattress with an electric pump within seconds. The full size is barely a twin. Just enough length and width for an average sized male. There is reasonable support. The mattress material is thicker than the bag but I wonder if it would stand up to heavy use on rough, hard surfaces.

Having tried different mattresses, I would say that this is best for someone that does frequent backpacking where size and weight are paramount.

Great pad for use in a bind. Ease to inflate and lightweight making it very convenient. Folds to a nice compact roll. Great value

Good mattress

The mattress itself is quite good, being lightweight but still supportive when inflated. It also really is insulated; even just laying on it you can feel your heat being reflected back at you.

Great sleep pad

I ordered the 25 x77 sleep pad and paired it with the zenbivy core sheet and quilt and am super happy with the combination! With the 6.6 R value it should make a very warm and comfortable sleep system for my motorcycle camping.

Thank you for choosing BRoadout and for sharing your positive experience with the ATEPA All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pad! We’re thrilled to hear that it pairs perfectly with your Zenbivy Core Sheet and Quilt, creating a warm and comfortable setup for your motorcycle camping adventures.

Your satisfaction means the world to us, and we’re so glad our product has contributed to your outdoor comfort. If you need any assistance or have more feedback, we’d love to hear from you!

Happy camping!

Kept me warm and comfortable on our fall camping trip.

I brought this along on my last camping trip to test it and compare it to my uninsulated sleeping pad. I typically use a tiny pump to inflate my pad, but for the sake of testing I used the included sack to inflate the pad. The sack worked well, and within a couple of minutes I had the pad inflated. The pad was comfortable to lay on, and even when on my side, my hips did not touch the ground. Overnight the temperature dropped into the lower 40s, but I didn’t feel any coldness through my spleeping bag.

When it came time to deflate the pad I had to struggle with the valve a little. The listing describes a two-layer valve, but there is only one layer that can be opened. In order to deflate the pad, you have to push the flap open to allow the air out. My issue was that the flap kept closing as I was trying to roll the air out of the pad. A two-layer valve would have been easier to use.

Comfortable and lightweight sleeping pad

This sleep pad packs decently small and is lightweight, which are both Important factors when backpacking. It is surprisingly thick and I do not feel the hard ground when shifting on it, nor do I bottom out when turning on my side. It is relatively quiet; it makes swishy noises when you brush the fabric but it doesn't crinkly when you lie on it. The storage bag doubles as an inflation device for the bag. You attach the nozzle on the bag to the sleep pad and trap air in the bag and squeeze it into the pad. I have a couple different brand sleeping pads that have a similar set up to this. I don't like this inflation bag because the bag is small, the wide end opening is finicky to work with, and there is velcro sen onto the inflation bag that I am certain will rip after only a few uses. That only knocks one star though because there are other ways to inflate a sleep pad. I question the R value of 6.6. I didn't see an official ASTM F3340 R-value rating, so this must just be what the company decided to give its pad. I suspect this pad will be best suited to mild weather backpacking, but I winter camp so I will bring it along to test on our next trip after the new year.

Bottom line: I like this pad, its comfy, light and packs to a backpack friendly size. I can forgive the design flaws of the inflation bag. ...and I will report back with how the r value is in the winter.

at this price point, there isn't much to compare it to. the fabric feels like a 210T fabric--walmart quality. it doesn't feel the best but it's okay and should be pretty durable. the pad uses several mylar sheets internally to prevent convective and radiant heat loss, the same way thermarest does. it works, too: the pad feels a touch less warm than my Xtherm and noticeably warmer than my Xlite, so I believe the 6.6 R-value is roughly accurate to ASTM standards. you can peer through the valve hole and see the mylar which is unfortunate because it's a bit of a mess, but it obviously does the job. the stuff sack is also a pumpsack that works pretty well, but the pad is huge and even with the pump sack it takes a while to inflate. the valve doesn't inspire much confidence, being a very simple one-way rubber valve and as such you have to hold the valve open the deflate it, an annoyance. comfort is alright. the low-cost fabric makes some noise if you move around and I wouldn't want it on bare skin, but the 4-inch thickness and baffle style does make this reasonably comfortable for side sleepers.

ultimately there are a lot of cut corners here and I don't think this pad will last more than a few seasons of normal use, but by that time you should be ready for an upgrade anyway. I think the sacrifices made to get the price down are reasonable and the product represents extremely good value for money. it's not even that heavy, coming in a bit under the specced weight on my scale which I think is reasonable for a winter pad at this pricepoint. 5 stars unless you can afford a high-end winder pad.
